Indonesian Gamelan
I play with various Gamelan groups in Singapore, with experience in Central Javanese, Balinese, Sundanese, fusion, and contemporary styles. I have performed and taken lessons with teachers in Indonesia.
I play a variety of instruments, including suling (bamboo flute), kendhang (hand drum), gendèr (metallophone), and have assisted in workshops in schools and for the general public.
Digital gamelan festival Jogjakarfest in 2020 and 2021 with Singa Nglaras Gamelan Ensemble (National University of Singapore)
Performance at Esplanade Outdoor Theatre with Singa Nglaras Gamelan Ensemble as part of A Tapestry of Sacred Music (2021)
Performed fusion/traditional-pop music on Gendèr (metallophone), Ciblon (hand drum), and Suling (bamboo flute) in Memoirs of Nanyang with Siong Leng Musical Association in the presence of Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong (2018)
Performed as a Suling (bamboo flute) soloist in Oriental Winds with Asian Cultural Symphony Orchestra (2018)

I love all kinds of music, and am particularly intrigued by musical instruments and styles that baffle and challenge me.
